Ultra-robust robotized device for active remote surveillance for military, police and rescue applications
Project value: PLN 1,394,800
Amount of subsidy: PLN 1,394,800
Project implementation timeframe: 13/07/2007 – 12/02/2010
Project purposes: The goal of the project was to design, build and test a prototype of a robotized surveillance device equipped with a video camera, microphone, video feed transmitter, sensors, drives and control electronics.
The device is used to capture information for use either real time, or after registration and processing, by tactical/operating units of the Police, army or by civilian rescuers. Its essential and characteristic property is the method of deployment: the device is delivered to the scene by throwing. The benefit of the solution is that the device can be placed anywhere (in open terrain, on woodland, inside a building) without exposing the operator to risk. This required a new and original design, compact size and strong hardware and software.
The project solved research, technological and technical problems standing on the way to the commissioning of the product. Discrete robotized remote observation devices are a relatively new group among the hitherto designed robots.
