SPECKON Project
Research projects known as “Special-purpose high-efficiency energy conversion systems for electromobility and robotics” (SPECKON).
CO-FINANCED BY THE STATE BUDGET
Purposeful grant from the President of the Łukasiewicz Centre for the implementation of a research project
known as “Special-purpose high-efficiency energy conversion systems for electromobility and robotics” (SPECKON).
The aim of the project is to develop a manufacturing technology and produce a demonstration series of special-purpose electrical energy converters (impulse power units) for use in means of transport, mobile robotics, control systems for mobile-powered equipment, as well as in the design of control systems and actuators for special agricultural machinery and equipment. The major part of the technological novelty in the project will be application of the state-of-the-art amorphous and nanocrystalline magnetics developed in the ŁUKASIEWICZ Research Network – Institute of Non-ferrous Metals as cores for inductive components in converters and use of new expertise in methods on modelling inductive characteristics of power supply and energy converter components owned by the Łukasiewicz Research Network – Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements (PIAP).
The project will result in the development of a manufacturing technology and a pilot series of power converters designed for specific applications, whose performance will be better than that of commercially available universal converters currently used as part of special-purpose systems.
