RIS Industry 4.0 Hubs project

The Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) is an aid programme of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology [EIT] (an independent EU body appointed to enable innovators to transform their best ideas into products, services and jobs in Europe) which helps to increase the innovative potential in European countries with a lower participation level. The RIS programme enables transfer of good practices and know-how from a unique attitude of the EIT to stimulation of innovations and is implemented within the framework of the EIT Manufacturing – a partnership of more than 55 organisations, including Volkswagen, Volvo, the University of Technology in Darmstadt, French Alternative and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), Siemens, Slovak Technical University and Whirlpool Europe.

The RIS I40H project is aimed at supporting digital transformation of SMEs in the manufacturing sector and enterprises commencing their activities in EIT RIS countries and at helping them in the digital transformation in the post-crisis period and in their involvement in digital manufacture networks as partners in the supply chain. The objective thereof also includes contribution to development of local ecosystems in RIS countries, i.e. in PL, CZ, LT, SL, EE and GR. The project shall give an impulse to SMEs to use digital technologies, to develop technologies and to improve their skills and competences. As part of the project, the use of the following three groups of tools has been assumed for achievement of its objectives: interactive seminars, individual consultations, planning of the digital transformation project. The project shall also contribute to development of local ecosystems in RIS countries.
