Promotion of implementations and commercial applications of patented product and process solutions from PIAP
Program name: ‘Patent Plus’ – support for patenting inventions
Project implementation timeframe: 01/01/2012 – 31/12/2012
Project purposes: The main purpose of the project is to maintain and encourage inventive activity of the Institute both in terms of practical application of patented solutions in Poland and in other countries and in terms of the number of patent applications. This goal is closely related to modernization of processes of technology transfer from PIAP to the economy by supporting procurement and retention of patent protection for inventions.
The scheduled tasks cover mainly domestic and international patent applications (including European), as well as application of international procedures. PIAP intends to extend as broad as possible protection over Polish native inventions.
Improvement of awareness of importance of protection of industrial property among the R&D personnel of the Institute is a detailed purpose and, at the same time, an additional project deliverable. This is because ideas and mature designs of inventions have not been promoted sufficiently. Another expectation is that the personnel of PIAP, authors of patented solutions, will intensify their commercial activity meaning active seeking for business partners interested in implementation of advanced technologies taking advantage of inventions.
The following have been planned as part of the project:
- Training of experts in industrial property protection oriented on contamination of creative imagination and technological knowledge with legal and economic matters;
- Production and publication of informative and promotional material on intellectual property of the Institute and distribution of the material during fairs and meetings and on the Web site of the project;
- Participation in local and international fairs / exhibitions for presentation of inventions;
- Meetings to establish bilateral and industrial contacts with industrial partners as prospective clients for patented works owned by PIAP.
Project co-financed by the National R&D Centre as part of the ‘Patent Plus’ Program
