Pro-ACT Project

Mobile robot system for lunar assembly and construction tasks – Planetary RObots deployed for Assembly and Construction Tasks (Pro-ACT).

Pro-ACT project aims to develop methods for the autonomous robot cooperation (three different systems supplied by PIAP, DFKI, AVS) for construction tasks including: device assembly, simple structure construction and preparation. The base scenario is to create and expand a lunar research station which will be built by a team of robot operating autonomously under human supervision. A team of project partners develop a software for data fusion from robot sensors, automatic robot cooperation planning, team-based object manipulation (two agents) and impedance control. Another team is responsible for developing the hardware compatible with the developed software: in particular mobile platforms with sensors and robotic arms supporting the impedance control. Pro-ACT project will conclude with a system demonstration in the lunar station expansion scenario.
