Multi Sensor Anti Sniper System
Program of the European Defence Agency (EDA), contract number: A-0223-RT-GC, project budget: EUR 2,874,697.27
Implementation timeframe: 22/02/2008 – 08/09/2010
Coordinator: MV Aerospace and Defence – Madrid, Spain
Project purposes: The main goal of the project was to develop a concept of multi-sensor system enabling detection and identification of sniper locations. The whole system is based both on ground vehicles (vehicle, mobile robot) controlled by a mobile command centre and on infantry soldiers. Each of these components carries a package of optical, radar and acoustic detectors to establish a matrix of detectors enabling rapid and accurate detection. Deployment of the system contributes to improvement of safety, particularly for infantry soldiers patrolling operational theatre.
