Graphene coatings of special toothed wheels and slide bearings
Program name: GRAF-TECH
Project value: PLN 4,908,168
Amount of subsidy: PLN 4,819,770
Project implementation timeframe: 01/12/2012 – 30/11/2015
Coordinator: Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP
Project purposes: The goal of the project is to develop a new type of graphene coatings dedicated to toothed wheels and slide bearings, particularly for miniature servomechanisms. Considering unique properties of graphene, it should be expected that such coatings will feature significant resistance to environmental conditions, high mechanical strength and good friction performance.
These coatings will be added to the commercial offer of PIAP as a product – in the form of toothed wheels and friction pair components sold separately, for final integration by the end user (e.g., in servomechanisms). In addition, results of the projects will be worked into a service of custom coating of toothed wheels and other components.
