Design and launch of manufacture of ball valve taps
Project implementation timeframe: 15/01/2013 – 31/10/2013
Coordinator: Fabryka Armatur JAFAR S.A.
Project purposes: The goal of the project is to develop a new generation of ball valve taps of the gas distribution industry. The project will master the technology of manufacture of ball valve taps using advanced welding methods. The end product will be commissioned for batch manufacture. Unified innovative solutions for units and components manufactured by renowned expert companies will be used. There is a plan for designing a series of types of taps with nominal diameters ranging from 15 to 200 mm, for rated pressures of 16, 25, and 40 bar, for use in temperatures ranging from -30°C to +110°C. The project will build tap prototypes of the following nominal diameters: 50, 100 and 150 mm. They feature, among others, an innovative solution consisting of tap integration from high quality components.
Compact design and integration of components performing basic functions, made from high quality materials, makes it possible to undertake studies on ball valve taps with long and stable period of operation under difficult operating conditions.
Advanced methods of designing, manufacture and application of new materials of broadly defined high technology will need to be mastered for rapid implementation of the project.
