Autonomous system for detection and destruction of non-metallic mines
Project value: PLN 3,000,000
Amount of subsidy: PLN 3,000,000
Project implementation timeframe: 14/10/2008 – 13/04/2011
Coordinator: Warsaw University of Technology
Project purposes: The goal of the project was to develop an autonomous system for detection of non-metallic mines and explosive charges. The system is supposed to be installed on a mobile platform with its own drive and steering system enabling autonomous field operation. The system for detection of objects is equipped with a device enabling detection and destruction or neutralization of mines and other plastic objects. The project developed a system for plastic mine detection by identification of smell spectrum using the measuring system referred to in the project as an ‘electronic nose’. The result of the work is a demonstrator of technologies (level 5) of the autonomous device for detection and destruction of plastic objects, mainly mines and explosive charges.
