Anticipation of priority innovative technologies for automatics, robotics and measuring technologies (FORESIGHT ARP)

Project purposes: The main goal of the project was to identify priority innovative technologies and directions of research of strategic significance, the development of which in the next 20 years will be very important for automatics, robotics and measuring technologies in Poland. 

Identification of priority technologies in automatics, robotics and measuring systems will enable orientation of growth of innovativeness of Polish of manufacturing companies because the technologies are omnipresent in manufacturing processes irrespective of the industry. On the other hand, identification of directions of research of strategic significance (related to priority technologies) will open a way to strengthening the role of Polish science in sustained economic growth of the country and will sharpen the competitive edge of Polish engineering sciences in the EU and worldwide.

An additional goal of the project was to develop scenarios for development of the indicated innovative technologies and strategic directions of research in the areas of automatics, robotics and measuring systems in Poland. This will enable both adequate steering of the process of directing development of these areas and effective adaptation by participants of the process (companies and R&D organizations) to changing requirements of the global market.

Another, additional, goal of the project was to establish a database on experts playing leading roles in development of technologies considered as priorities and specializing in research areas recognized as strategic ones.
