The study visit and matchmaking in Brussels
A study visit and matchmaking for Polish organisations from the health sector will take place in Brussels on 8 and 9 October 2024. The aim is to present the EU’s policy and funding opportunities for innovation at an international level in the field of medical technology; initiate contacts with medical stakeholders, representatives of associations and organisations operating in and around Brussels; and create a platform to connect Polish participants with innovative European companies and researchers.
The first day will focus, among other things, on the directions and challenges of European R&D policy in the context of specific health challenges and on DG Research & Innovation RTD, DG SANTE/ EU4Health, EIC (Accelerator+Pathfinder) and Horizon Europe competitions. A tour of research laboratories (KULeuven Hospital, Bioincubator) and a matchmaking session are planned for the afternoon.
The second day will offer a meeting with Brussels regional representatives (European Regions Research and Innovation Network – ERRIN, Innovation Valleys – DG RTD) and a meeting with research groups at FARI-AI.
The following will be discussed: Brussels Bioincubator, LifeTech.brussels, Brussels Hub, Bussels Health Network, KOWI; research initiatives B-PHOT Brussels Photonics (Vrije Universiteit Brussels), BruBotics; European Partnerships – Innovative Health Initiative, European Alliance For Personalised Medicine EP PerMed, Photonics’21. In the afternoon, there will be a visit to the Hôpital Universitaire in Brussels and meetings with research groups.
Participation in the study visit is free of charge but participants are expected to arrange and pay for travel and accommodation on their own. The deadline for registering for participation is 18 August. There will be a selection of applicants at the end of August and an online meeting in the first week of October to prepare for the event.
