Julia Wilk, who works at Laboratory Łukasiewicz – PIAP’s Rapid Prototyping and Numerical Computing and studies at the Warsaw University of Technology, was among 24 women honoured by Forbes Women.
Forbes Woman magazine has compiled a list of 24 Polish women worth watching in 2024. Julia Wilk from Łukasiewicz – PIAP can be found in this list. She has been recognised for developing a system for comprehensive home monitoring of newborns’ vital signs, which will use artificial intelligence algorithms. A mobile app designed specifically for this purpose will provide a continuous live view of the child’s vital signs and alert the carer about each emergency, while also giving instructions on how to provide direct assistance. The solution will help in preventing the sudden infant death syndrome by raising carers’ awareness and providing safety for children and peace of mind for their parents.
Julia Wilk graduated with a degree in engineering from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Power and Aeronautics of the Warsaw University of Technology, majoring in Automation and Robotics with a specialisation in Biomechanics and Biorobotics. She is continuing her master’s studies in the same field, with a specialisation in Robotics. She works Łukasiewicz – PIAP as a specialist in the Measurement Systems Research Group.
