The CETEF Forum is coming soon
The Central European Technology Forum (CETEF) is fast approaching. On 24 and 25 October 2022, five thematic conferences on the broader issue of digital transformation will be held at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology Congress Centre.
The Central European Technology Forum (CETEF) has been organized since 2014 by the Polish Chamber of Commerce for High Technology (IZTECH) in cooperation with technical universities and representatives of high-tech industry. This year’s edition, which in addition to IZTECH is organized by the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations, will be held under the auspices of the European Commission and under the patronage of the European Parliament. KGHM is the strategic partner of the event. The Łukasiewicz – PIAP Institute is the scientific partner of the event, with its magazines “Pomiary Automatyka Robotyka” and “Automatyka” as well as its website AutomatykaOnline.pl being the media partners.
Mission: to use the potential
The successful implementation of the digital revolution depends on the technical sophistication of many complementary technologies: automation, robotics and mechatronics, electronics and photonics, smart energy and communications networks or cybersecurity. The aim of the Central European Technology Forum (CETEF) is to provide an international platform for discussing European policy on the development of technology fields critical to the success of the digital transformation. It is also intended to inspire partner networks for large European high-tech projects and to showcase Poland’s technological and research potential in the implementation of European Union development projects, particularly in the areas of digital and energy transformation.
This year’s participants will be stakeholders from 17 Central European countries, including:
- representatives of R&D centre managerial staff and digital transformation project managers,
- managers responsible for the development of the technological infrastructure of industry and services,
- managers of companies specializing in the design and integration of industrial and logistics automation systems,
- representatives of institutions, ministries and government agencies with financial resources to support the digital transformation of European economy.
New technologies in the spotlight
This year’s CETEF includes five thematic conferences in the following fields:
- future-oriented industrial automation and robotics solutions,
- breakthroughs in medical technologies (medtech),
- cybersecurity,
- new biomedical technologies in diagnostics and therapy,
- innovative technologies in non-ferrous metallurgy.
The first of the conferences, entitled “Development trends, opportunities and barriers to robotization of European industry,” will be hosted by Assoc. Prof. Piotr Szynkarczyk, PhD Eng., Director of Łukasiewicz – PIAP.
The conferences will provide an opportunity to listen to, among other things, presentations by prominent foreign experts:
- robotics and AI: Prof. Ivan Petrovic, member of the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences, Chair of the Technical Committee on Robotics of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), professor at the University of Zagreb,
- biomedical engineering: Prof. Wolfgang Drexler, Head of the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at the Medical University of Vienna, and Chair of the European Biomedical Imaging Society,
- computer security: Prof. Kai Rannenberg, professor at Goethe University in Frankfurt and the National Institute for Informatics in Tokyo, Chair of the Strategic Advisory Group on Industry 4.0, Vice-Chair of the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies, coordinator of the European Cybersecurity Competence Network, Chair of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).
Other forum participants include Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Cristian-Silviu Buşoi, Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, and Peter Droell, Director at Directorate-General for Research
and Innovation of the European Commission. An event accompanying the forum will be the Young Scientists’ Day organized by the Polish Association of Doctoral Candidates and the Young Scientists’ Council.
– A digital transformation roundtable will be held at the Wrocław University of Science Technology on 24 and 25 October 2022, bringing together the new European plan for innovation and the European digital transformation strategy. We are pleased that both companies and scientific and research units joined this cooperation, as well as organizations representing experienced engineers, but also doctoral students and young scientists. We invite you to take active part in the debate, attended by a number of prominent European scientists and practitioners, on the development of technological fields crucial to the success of the digital transformation. We hope for a fruitful exchange of ideas and experiences. We invite you to come to Wroclaw – says Zygmunt Krasinski, PhD Eng., President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce for High Technology (IZTECH).
The CETEF Forum will be held in a hybrid model. More information is available at www.cetef.eu.
