Results of the Young Innovators Competition 2019

38 applications were submitted for the 2019 Young Innovators Competition. ‘Young Innovators’ competition is addressed to the students and graduates of intramural and extramural exact science and technical studies in Poland. The papers were assessed in three categories: doctoral thesis, master’s thesis and engineering thesis. The competition committee decided to grant 6 awards and 9 distinction awards. Two awards were granted to the graduates of the Faculty of Mechatronics of the Warsaw University of Technology and four Distinction Awards were granted to the graduates of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering of the AGH University of Science and Technology. The awarded papers were selected based on their research and scientific value and their implementability in automation, robotics and measurements. The winners of this year’s awards will receive PLN15,000 . 

The results of the competition were announced on 27th March 2018 during the 23rd AUTOMATION, Conference held at the Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements in Warsaw. The authors of the winning entries will be invited to give a presentation during AUTOMATION 2019 Conference.

• 1st Award: Electromyography-based diagnostics and therapy of clinically weak patients – Silesian University of Technology, Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science
• 2nd Award: Methods for the fusion of quantitative and qualitative information using factor graph optimization for the simultaneous localization and mapping problem – Poznań University of Technology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering
• Distinction Award: Synthesis of automatic electro-navigation control system for concurrent vessel traffic using predictive methods – Gdynia Maritime University, Faculty of Electrical Engineering
